Black Widow blog tasks

 1) List the companies involved in the creation of Black Widow. You may wish to use Black Widow's IMDB entry to help with this - see the company credits page - but the answers can also be found in the notes above.

Marvel studios, Walt Disney studios and Disney+

2) What is conglomerate ownership and how does it link to Black Widow?

most major media companies are conglomerates that own a range of smaller companies (called subsidiaries).

3) Analyse the film trailer for Black Widow. What aspects of the trailer tell you this is a big-budget blockbuster movie?

The major characters are portrayed by well-known actors, thus it must have been a very expensive and upscale production because so many contemporary places are shown.

4) How was Black Widow promoted to an audience? List at least three different methods used by the film's marketing campaign and why they were effective in promoting the film.

  • Because they already have followers and a following from earlier Marvel films
  • Due to their large revenue, they are able to produce more expensive movies, promote them heavily globally, and create franchises.
  • Posters and teasers to advertise and excite people to gather their audience.

Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, it was challenging to estimate, but they made about $379 million.

6) Would you consider Black Widow a successful Hollywood blockbuster? Why?

I think since there was a Covid-19 pandemic, there was more time for people to watch the movie as of their influences on social media so it was a success, however they didn't make as much money due to the fact that since there was a pandemic, the word wasn't spread as fast and it wasn't hyped up as much as it should've been.

7) Who regulates the film industry in the UK?

The British Board of Film Classification (BBFC)

8) What age rating was Black Widow given? Why?
Although it is rated PG13, there are numerous stabbing fight sequences, making it a 12+.

9) Look at the Marvel Black Widow website. How does the website help to promote the film? Give specific examples from the website and how they appeal to the audience.

It has the trailer, which people can watch and use to hype the movie up a bit, they also have an overview of the cast and directors, which would excite the audience as of the big stars acting in the movie, so this will help promote the movie.

10) Read this feature on Marvel using a fan's tweet to help market the film. Why is audience interaction such an important aspect of modern film marketing?

It is crucial to make sure a movie gets enough exposure in order to make money in all of its forms, including the box office. If viewers engage with the process of creating and promoting a movie, more of them will want to see it, which will draw in a bigger audience and earn more favourable reviews.

statement of intent

I want to make an eye catching and convincing ad for a new line of flavoured water for GCSE media print assignment. The main goal is to appeal to an audience that is active,  health-minded, and environmentally conscious while emphasising the product's advantages and refreshing flavour.  The commercial's main objective is to present the flavour-infused water as the ideal option for people who wish to stay hydrated without sacrificing flavour by promoting it as a low-calorie, healthful substitute for sugary drinks. I will accomplish this by communicating vigour and enthusiasm through bold lettering and vivid, fresh colours. With close-ups of the components, such as fresh fruit, water droplets, and ice, the pictures will highlight the many flavours of the water while evoking a feeling of crispness and fre...
